Guidance for FDM Type Protocol Parameters

Monitoring and analyzing flight data in helicopter offshore markets has developed into a deliverable for operators who seek contracts with major oil and gas companies throughout the world.
Digital data is collected through flight data recorders placed on the operator’s aircraft. The data is used to identify significant events which are manifested as a “change” in a particular flight. These changes are established by independent analysis companies working closely with the operator to establish a “normal” flight profile for a multitude of flight maneuvers on a standard flight.
Our team works closely with the data analysis company as well as our client, (the operator), to establish initial flight data points on a many flight profiles. Once the data points are set, we continue to monitor the feedback provided by the data analysis company to the operator, and offer guidance to flight maneuver events in order to determine if the event was triggered by a normal event or if the event was indeed outside of the accepted scope of the maneuver.

The benefit from our oversight for our client is:
– Increased serviceability of their helicopter fleet
– Grounding of aircraft when deemed necessary if aircraft limitations have been exceeded and an expeditious approach to perform required maintenance guidance in order to return aircraft to service.
